Zenande Mketeni was born in Qonce, Eastern Cape in 1995. She graduated with a National Diploma in Fine Art from the University of Johannesburg, majoring in sculpture. Mketeni primarily works in printmaking, sculpture, photography and videography art. Her research explores spiritual dispassion and heritage and aims to unearth the important role women play within African society.
